Sea-Side Destinations in England
Being an island, it goes without saying that coastal destinations would be a primary attraction in the Great Britain. Here we look at some of the most beautiful coastal villages and towns which one can head off to on a bright summer day to enjoy a beach-side holiday and view the gorgeous sea.
First we look at the South. From the South-west coast, right up to the western most point of Cornwall, there are a number of sea-side attractions along the English Channel. It also can include a trip to Isle of Wight, an island off the South-west coast.
1. Bournemouth
Bournemouth is the largest sea-side resort town in the Dorset region of South-west England and famous for its sandy beaches and beautiful gardens. One can enjoy beautiful bay walks and breath-taking views from the cliff tops. The place also has a buzzing nightlife with some of the best pubs, bars and clubs to be found along the south coast.

2. Barton-On-Sea
Barton on Sea is a clifftop village in Hampshire, England. It is located close to the New Forest region. Enjoy a wonderful cliffside walk along the sea and round it off with a lovely meal at the village pub.

3. Weymouth
Weymouth is a seaside town in Dorset, southern England. The place to enjoy in the sandy beaches and in the charm of the beautiful old harbour whilst soaking up the atmosphere.

4. Durdle Door
Durdle Door is a natural limestone arch on the Jurassic Coast near Lulworth in Dorset, England. It is a must-see for any trip to this region. From camping to rock-pooling, walking to coasteering, photography, to nature walks, or to just enjoy the stunning views. There’s plenty to do and see here.

5. Isle Of Wight
The British Isles, as the name suggests, consists of a number of islands. Great Britain, of course is the largest island but there are many small island scattered across the English Channel, Irish Sea and right up to the Atlantic.
Off the coast of Southampton in the South-west, the one famous island which is flocked by tourists is the ‘Isle of Wight’

6. Cornwall
Cornwall is a county on England’s rugged southwestern tip. It forms a peninsula encompassing wild moorland and hundreds of sandy beaches, culminating at the promontory Land’s End. The primary attractions of the place includes the Porthcurno Beach located in Penzance which also has the Minack Theatre. St Ives is one of the lively beach side towns and of course the Land’s End offers a great view.

7. Margate
Margate is a seaside holiday town on the Kent coast in the South East of England. It is famous for its sandy beaches and well, fish-n-chips. A perfect place to enjoy a summer day. It is just an hour from London.

From the South-West and the South-East, we now move up north and to God’s own county Yorkshire. A long enough coastline provides some of the fascinating destinations by the sea. Here we look at some, which are a must-see:
8. Whitby
Whitby is a small, coastal town in North Yorkshire and the gateway to the North York Moors. Enjoy the cobbled roads and Yorkshire’s best fish and chips. The place is famous for its fishermen and a buzzing fish market. The place offers various boat trips and cruises into the sea.

Marked by a stretch of rugged white cliffs surrounding a small village, Flamborough Head is a paradise for outdoor lovers. The place has a beautiful coastline epitomized by the white cliffs, which provide a great scenic beauty
